Owned and operated an active private practice engaged in representing businesses and individuals in legal matters across many legal practice areas. Also, served as volunteer defense counsel for Grand Forks Adult Drug Court (2012-15) and is currently defense counsel for Grand Forks Juvenile Drug Court.

Representation of criminal defendants on the Indigent Defense Contract for the Northeast Central Judicial District from July, 2005 to July, 2007, representation of criminal defendants and respondents on juvenile cases in Walsh County, ND on an Indigent Defense Contract from February, 2007 to May, 2008, representation of respondents on Mental Health Commitment proceedings in Grand Forks and Nelson Counties from January, 2006 to September, 2009, as well as representation of criminal defendants by court appointment from Grand Forks Municipal Court. Larry is married to Dr. Mandi L. Johnson, a family medicine physician with First Care Health System. Together they have two daughters, a son and a large, goofy dog. In his free time, Larry enjoys bicycling, reading, and travel.
