On this date in 1791, President George Washington nominated Thomas Johnson to serve as an Associate Justice on the United States Supreme Court to the seat left vacant by the resignation of Justice John Rutledge (who would a few years later serve as Chief Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court). On this date in 1834, Justice William Johnson, Associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court, died at age 62 in New York, NY after undergoing jaw surgery.  William Johnson was born in December, 1771 in Charleston, South Carolina the son of two revolutionaries.  Johnson studied law at Princeton where he graduated with an A.B. in 1790.  After "reading the law" in the law office of Charles Cotesworth Pinckney, Johnson passsed
Larry Richards joined the faculty of Lake Region State College as adjunct faculty this summer.  Larry taught Accounting 215: Business in a Legal Environment at the college's campus located at the Grand Forks Air Force Base.  The eight week basic business law course covered a whole variety of topics which included agency, contracts, business structures, employment law, and a whole host of other legal topics which could affect business.  It was an experience Larry
