Happy Law Day

      Today is May 1st.  Most people associate May 1st with the holiday "May Day".  You probably associate this holiday with May poles and May Day baskets.  However, for those of you who can recall the heady days when Communism and the Soviet Union seemed to be taking over the World, you will remember that May Day was a major holiday in those countries,  So, to counter this communist
    Larry was recently appointed by the State Bar Association of North Dakota to fill the unexpired term for one of five seats that organization has on the North Dakota Judicial Conference.  The North Dakota Judicial Conference meets twice a year and has a total of 75 members which includes all of the state district court judges and the Justices of the North Dakota Supreme Court.  The conference considers proposals regarding the administration of
    Larry once again joined the faculty at the Lake Region State College campus located at the Grand Forks Air Force Base this fall.  Larry has the privilege of teaching Essential of Business Law, which is an introductory undergraduate course on business law.  Thank you again Lake Region for the opportunity!!!

As I noted in the prior post, I enjoyed studying the attorney section of the Grand Forks yellow pages directory.  It says so much about us and our field and really our culture.  As noted before, the number of firms rose in the 1980's and 1990's and is now falling.  The advertising in the yellow pages reflects that trend, but even much more than that.
